PRECISION AGRICULTURE
PRECISION AGRICULTURE
The goal of precision agriculture is to define a decision support system (DSS) for whole farm management with the goal of optimizing returns on inputs while preserving resources. In other words precision Agriculture is to increase income while reducing environmental impact to greater the yields and reduce cost. It is knowledge- based technology that involves measurement of crop yields such that a coloured map can show yield variability as a function of field location. DGPS & GPS based corrected Map is the backbone of these field operations. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Precision_agriculture
Role of Remote Sensing in Precision Agriculture
Remote sensing is the acquisition of information about an object or phenomenon without making physical contact with the object and thus in contrast to on-site observation, especially the Earth. Remote sensing is playing important role to achieve the goal of Precision Agriculture by providing accurate map to our researcher so that they able to make decision to maintain or increase the crop health on time. Latest technologies are playing vital role like Drone that helps our researcher to get high resolution images and DGPS and GPS helping to correct the field location or postion of those Images. Because of High resolution of images researchers are able to get to know in the soil and crop condition.https://www.atomaviation.com/land-use-and-land-cover-mapping/
Role of Drones and DGPS
just because of Drones we are able to reach more closer to the precision agriculture. Drones helps to get high resolution image and more accurate due to dgps and gps so that our researcher gets more detailed map also able to analysis the different type of Indices like NDVI, NDMI,LVI,EVI, Thermal etc.
also Drone helping in crop health monitoring and yield estimations.
